Do the simulators move?

No. They are fixed base simulators, meaning that there is no motion; so no seat belts or sick bags are required. The dynamic and realistic 220 degree visuals give such an immersive experience that you can feel the sensation of motion however.  We regularly have customers tell us that they are moving when we know they are not.

Which simulator?

This is personal choice but to help you decide, here is what we think. The Airbus is a technological marvel having many pilot aids. Main flight control is by means of a joystick (actually called Sidestick) which is extremely easy to use. The Airbus also has automatic trim for even more precise control. The Boeing is much more old school. Control is by means of a traditional Yoke and requires much more effort to fly the aircraft. There are fewer pilot aids than the Airbus requiring much more mental workload for the pilot. To put in bluntly, think of the Boeing as an old Landrover and the Airbus as a Tesla.  So if you want a hands on experience go for the Boeing. If you love technology, go for the Airbus.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, additional guests can view the simulator from a seated area just outside the cockpit. There is small extra charge if this. You may bring up to 3 additional guests with you, but please don't bring your children.

UPDATE : Due to our 737 now being an actual ex Jet Cockpit, there is only room for ONE spectator in the Jump seat and no spectators if purchasing the two people flying option.

Why do spectators have to pay?

We provide seating for additional guests and want these guests to enjoy the experience as much as the pilot flying. We also offer complimentary Tea & Coffee for these guests. There is a Cafe next door should travelling guests not want access to the simulator room.

If a session is for an under 16 year old, a parent or responsible adult must be present during the session.

How good are your simulators?

Our simulators are used regularly by real world airline pilots for training.
Many come to us before going for a job assessment or license renewal. Every button and switch works and the navigation database is the same as in the real aircraft, so if you can fly our simulators, you will be able to fly the real thing.

Do I need flight experience to use the simulator?

Not at all. We are equipped to handle all levels of experience from beginners to current pilots! We have instructors to assist you, whether its your first time or you just need a sandbag pilot.

Can I hire the simulator for a day or for several people?

Of course! We can cater for many different scenarios if you are looking for extra sim time or even the whole day. We are able to offer bespoke packages for corporate days, or if you want to bring the whole family down (over 8's) and spend half or a whole day in the simulator. Just call or email us and we'll be able to help.

Do you have disabled accessibility?

As in the real aircraft, access & egress is limited, more so in the 737 so whilst we aim to cater for the disabled, it's not always possible.

We are in the process of modifying our Airbus A320 to enable wheelchair access to the cockpit. This will enable anyone in a wheelchair to experience flying a commercial airliner !

You are welcome to come and view by prior arrangement.

What sort of things can I do in the sim?

Anything you like. You can do a Gate to Gate full flight or just try landing the aircraft at a specific airport of your choice. We have over 29000 airports in the database including Hong Kong's famous Kai Tak. You can also choose your own weather or we can inject "live" weather into the sim. Your experience is limited only by your imagination.

Can I take photographs?

Absolutely, we encourage it. Get some video whilst you're at it and post on your social media

Is there an age / weight limit?

There is no upper age limit, however the minimum limit is 12.
Our simulators are expensive and sophisticated pieces of technology and need treating accordingly.
There is also a weight limit of 120kg for all our simulators.

Where are you located?

We are located at Barton Aerodrome or City Airport as it is now called. Postcode is M30 7SA. We are on the LEFT as you enter the airport and there is free parking on site.
